Recycling

Tyres are tough and durable. They have to be. An average car tyre will travel around 20,000 miles over its lifetime. But what happens when they reach the end of the road?

At Bodytek we make every effort to be an environmentally friendly recycling outfit wherever possible. We aim to make our company environmentally friendly from beginning to end.

Car tyres are filling up our landfills and as the people who supply car tyres it is our job to find new ways of recycling and re-using tyres. The rubber from our tyres can be shredded or reused and manufactured for children's play areas and a wide variety of other uses. in the case of play parks, the tyres themselves are turned into chips and used for protective and decorative purposes.

Car tyres can also be re-used in many other different applications including plant pots or for use in children's play areas, as cushioning around things such as swings and chutes to protect the kids, and or used in landscape gardening.

Some other interesting ways tyres are used in recycling are for

  • underlay in carpets
  • car mats
  • Renewable Energy
  • Drainage systems in landfill sites
